Feng Shui Colours

Feng Shui is a Chinese ancient topography that learned how humans and the solar system (astronomy) and the earth (geography) walk in harmony and help people improve their lives by using Chi’s positive energy.  Feng Shui science learned about the meaning of colors. Feng Shui’s colors are all same as in the color spectrum we commonly studied as the primary or secondary colors.

In Feng Shui, colors are classified based on Yin Yang principal. Yin is feminine element; negative, soft, and the color series consist green to black purple. While Yang is masculine element; positive, hard, and the color series consist red to yellow and orange. The most important element in Feng Shui is fire, earth, metal, water, and wood. Using certain colors combined with those elements could bring a special aspect of someone’s life. Precise calculation between element and color expression will be giving favorable energy and positive result, affecting mood, changing luck, better health, etc.

Fire element is represented by red and purple, earth element is represented by brown, beige, and yellow, metal element is represented by white, silver, and golden yellow, water element is represented by blue and black, while wood element is symbolized by green and brown.

It is better to have house colors that are compatible with the elements of all its residents, and it is also important to put the other colors you like. However, be careful not to put contrast colors between one to another. As an example, too much red is not fit for you if your element is water, because water and fire cannot be unite.

Be careful in choosing color for your home ceiling or office, bright colors are usually better than dark colors. Dark ceiling in Chinese culture symbolized dark clouds hanging in the sky. Dark clouds can block the Chi, as a result, Chi cannot circulate naturally, and it will affect wealth, health and luck. Use color that suits you and your element to maximizing positive effect of your life environment.
